We are a group of professionals from all over Europe with a specific interest in children’s hand and upper limb problems. We recognise that each problem is highly individual and that many surgeons work alone in this field. We want to encourage cooperation, mutual discussion and the sharing of experience to benefit the care of the children affected.

We want to create an open group for education in this field and exchange of ideas. This should allow friendships to blossom and with it, ideas for research and international cooperation and assistance. All of our members are English speaking but this isn’t necessarily their primary language and they may be fluent in others.

We do not pretend to have all the answers but do trust that we will critically search for them and the initial step in this is working together. We see that those who are starting in practice are keen but uncertain as this area is such a complex one and we hope that they would benefit from the experience of those who are more senior. That should reduce the risk of the young repeating the mistakes of the old.
